NURP40TW194, Bletchley

NURP40TW194 is a public artwork located in Bletchley, close to Bletchley Park, home of the WWII codebreakers. The hut is a reference to the huts at Bletchley park and the hut comprises a core 10 panels with concrete gable ends featuring a 1939 map of Bletchley. The hut has been given its own postcode and it features a discreet letterbox to enable secret letters to be posted.

The roads and railway lines on the map represent a conduit for the flow of people and information. To highlight these in the artwork and so added a darker colour and a texture to these areas. The allotment gardens were also important during the war years and we added an additional texture to these areas to draw attention to their significance.
